Christopher Mollon, Riverside 07:00 - 16:30
For Bleak Actions Christopher will present 'Home' (2011) a durational action that investigates and grapples with where the artist has been, is now, and is going. Mollon negates what he is part of and what our closer and wider collective is part of. Letting go of substance and actuality through careful control and dismantling of natural and manufactured objects. Traces of 'Home' will be left. Home is performed in the hours from sunrise to sunset. One day.
Christopher Mollon is a performance artist making work that considers time as material in durational performances and is interested in how the body copes during rigorous live performance. Mollon is a recent performance graduate (York St John University) who lives and works in York, UK. He is co-founder of Without.Blueprint, a company that explores live and mediated performance installation to react to contemporary issues of surveillance. He is also associate artist of O U I Performance.
Currently, Mollon is interested in working with naturally formed objects from site-specific areas across Northern regions of the United Kingdom. He is developing images and a vocabulary of objects that seek to reconsider the specificity of local Identity, those that are less visible in the broader context of a National identity.
