Three artists from York Contemporary Arts Collective, Art Bloc with O U I Performance, responded to the Newgate Market traders to create an art market of exchange where the currency was food, objects and conversation - not money.
Catherine Scriven served a perpetual fruit salad, Steve Humble collected memories on cheese slices to create cheese bunting and Jade Blood conducted an object raffle exchange. Jane Charlton baked art bread and the two founders of
O U I Performance, Nathan Walker & Victoria Gray, along with Chris Mollon, Claire Greenwood and Samantha Murphy, performed an anagram intervention on/of Temporary Market.
